The first part of our 2004 cruise through the Panama Canal took place in San Diego, as the Legend of the Seas arrived from her most recent cruise from Hawaii to Mexico. We had just arrived by air after a long "redeye" flight from Maui. Fog had closed airports all over Southern California, and we were lucky to get in before noon. As it was the timing was great, with us arriving on the pier just as the luggage check was opening up, and passenger processing was beginning.

These photos show the "Legend"s arrival, some images of San Diego, and a little of the nighttime departure. We left late, but in a pleasant way, because San Diego was having a colorful holiday boat parade in the harbor.

These pictures were taken primarily with our new Kodak DX6490, which we love. The 10x optical zoom is great, and the electronics do a fine job of automatic adjustment and flash operations.
