This photo album contains images of a very interesting small town on the southern coast of Australia. It was a bit of a backwater for many years, but the cruise industry has helped bring in more tourists.
The previous industry, whaling, had declined (or been declared illegal), but tourists can still visit the whale processing station near town.
Based on what we saw in the port, the current economy is supported by the export of lumber and wood chips. Similar to what we saw in Tasmania, it appears that those products are going to China.
We have to add that the people of the town were most welcoming and helpful to us during our short port stay.
