We lived on Maui at the time of this cruise, so there was little need to get off the ship. Anyone else visiting our beautiful island is encouraged to rent a car and see all that Maui has to offer.
Most of these photos are of the harbor area, which is not scenic for itself, but the surrounding mountains, valley, and sea are very beautiful.
The harbor is very important to the islanders, because all of the goods we use come here on barges, including electricity!
From our home, we regularly enjoy just watching the harbor activities. Seeing those activities up close was a treat. Of course, for us, it was great having the Pride of Hawai’i all to ourselves during the visit!
We did enjoy a special event while in the harbor: the mayor of Maui and his lovely wife, came aboard. Always good to see them, great folks.
