We were just getting into the swing of things, and all too soon it was over (sob!). We got up early to watch our arrival to Honolulu: quite dramatic, too. Sunrise over Diamond Head is unforgettable. Watching the approach to Honolulu Harbor is also interesting as we passed Pearl Harbor and Honolulu International. Througout the cruise we were very impressed with the professionalism and skills exhibited by the Star's crew. This morning was no exception as she was guided smoothly into her berth at the Aloha Tower. It's over...
We're booked aboard the Pride of America for her Miami to Los Angeles Panama Canal repositioning in May. We've asked ourselves, would we be bored silly on an eighteen day cruise? Well, as we tied up in Honolulu we'd been aboard the Star for seven days, and we really aren't ready to leave!!! Guess that answers our question.
[A bit of history, after the above was written: the Pride of America sank in her construction berth in Germany. There was a one-year delay, before we were able to enjoy that maiden cruise!]
This trip we learned that it isn't mandatory to put your luggage outside your stateroom Saturday evening. If you want NCL to handle your luggage you must do so, but if you're willing to handle it yourself, you can keep it in your stateroom and take it off Sunday morning. Since our luggage is all wheeled, we opted to do it ourself, which made Saturday evening more enjoyable as we could enjoy the shows without worrying about packing. We packed at leisure Sunday morning and rolled ourselves off the ship around ten.
