A Small Flood in Bay City, Michigan

[Flooded Marina]

This is an interesting view of what can happen here in Bay City, when the wind direction changes. Put simply, if the wind is blowing strongly out of the Northast, it literally pushes the Saginaw River and the contents of Saginaw Bay back upstream and floods anything close to the water.

In this case, you are looking at the Brennan Marina, upstream of downtown Bay City. The water has blown up so high, that the parking lot (and dumpster) is flooded, and the docks are under water. Many boats, including ours (in the background), became inaccessable, during this weather condition.
