Illegal Use of Savings Stamp

This is the image of a cover that was franked with a postal savings stamp, rather than a valid US postage stamp. It appears to be a 10 cent savings stamp, which of course, was not valid for postage.

There is no evidence that this letter was intercepted by the Post Office.

I find these types of covers to be fascinating, and rarely miss a chance to add new items to my collection.
