This is the image of a cover that shows an incorrect use of a cutout corner of a postal stationery cover. It appears that someone took a very old 2 cent envelope, cut out the indicia (upper right corner with the 2 cent postage imprint) and pasted it to a new envelope. The indicia used dates from about 1920, quite a while before the cutout was used. Anyway, postal stationery envelopes and pre-printed postal cards are supposed to remain intact, and not be reused. Here is a closeup image of the pasted-on indicia corner.
There is no evidence that this letter was intercepted by the Post Office.
I find these types
of covers to be fascinating, and rarely miss a chance to add
new items to my collection.
