P47 at AirZoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Sandi has a pilot’s license, and we’ve enjoyed both visiting air museums and viewing outdoor air events, such as the Oshkosh Air Show. Add to that the great time we had in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. We were able to get field passes, and even helped some of the balloons land in the area where our RV was parked.

The Air Force Museum in Dayton is amazing. We recommend spending at least 2 days exploring all that they have to offer there. We’ve visited multiple times.

Always worth a stop is AirZoo, a great museum in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

While we stayed for the winter in Arizona, we visited more than one aircraft-related location. The Pinal Airpark, AZ (static photo page) is a “boneyard” for commercial aircraft, not unlike that for military aircraft in Tucson.

Speaking of Tucson, the Pima Air and Space Museum (static photo page) near the Air Force base is world-class. They have large numbers of aircraft outside their building, being preserved by the dry desert conditions.
