P47 at Kalamazoo

Sandi has a pilot’s license, and we’ve enjoyed both visiting air museums and viewing outdoor air events, such as Oshkosh.

Add to that the great time we had in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. We had field passes, and even helped some of the baloons land in the area where our RV was parked.

The Air Force Museum in Dayton is amazing. We recommend spending at least 2 days exploring all that they have to offer there. We’ve visited multiple times.

While we stayed for the winter in Arizona, we visited more than one aircraft-related location. The Pinal Airpark is a “boneyard” for commercial aircraft, not unlike that for military aircraft in Tucson.

Speak of Tucson, the museum at the Air Force base is world-class. They have large numbers of aircraft outside their building, being preserved by the dry desert conditions.
